Youth members of the RASC Regina Centre are invited to photograph a lunar skyscape image and submit it for a chance to win a cash prize. The RASC defines youth member as a person under 21 years old, or under 25 years old and attending a post-secondary institution. A “lunar skyscape” is an image that features the Moon in Earth’s sky and that also includes the landscape. Generally, it is a wide field picture that captures the Moon low enough in the sky to also include the landscape. Deadline for submissions is May 30th, 2022.

Observatory

The Kalium Observatory at the Saskatchewan Science Centre offers FREE public observing throughout the year. The events are open to individuals, families, or small groups of any age. The Kalium Observatory is operated by volunteers from the RASC Regina Centre. Objects that are regularly viewed when visible include the Sun, the Moon, planets, double stars, colorful stars, star clusters, galaxies, and nebulas.
